About Jacobo Blanco Blanco has more than 10 years of experience developing data-intensive products and building engineering organizations. Since 2017, he has been with Paidy, one of Japan’s leading fintech companies, where he built the data science engineering division from the ground up. He led the design of platforms serving as the foundation for analytics and AI, while also driving technology selection, hiring, and the development of engineering culture in a rapidly growing organization. He also holds a PhD in particle physics and has experience analyzing terabyte-scale data at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). Particle physics is a field dedicated to statistically identifying “true signals” from vast amounts of noisy data. That way of thinking and methodology addresses essentially the same question as people analytics: uncovering the real causes behind surface-level numbers in organizational data. Talent capable of bringing CERN-honed expertise in causal inference and large-scale data processing into the HR domain is extremely rare globally.
