2050 Hackathon

[Purpose of Event]

We will hold a hackathon themed on regional social issues looking ahead to 2050.
We are inviting entrepreneurs, students, engineers, creators, and others to submit works on a wide range of themes, including challenges facing regional society in 2050 such as declining birthrate and aging population, depopulation, environmental issues, and energy problems, as well as the creation of new value.

Submissions should include slides (within 10 pages) and a simple working demo. The use of AI and no-code tools is permitted. The genre is open, ranging from convenient tools for daily life to new business models, proposals for social infrastructure, and future entertainment, games, and art. Submissions of already developed works are also welcome. No specialized knowledge is required; it's fine to start with the idea of "I wish something like this existed." Unlike traditional hackathons, participants will present already completed works.

Award-winning teams will have the opportunity to present on a special stage at one of Japan's largest AI events.

The biggest feature of this hackathon is that the winning teams will stand on the special stage at the 40th Annual Conference of the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence (JSAI2026). JSAI2026 is scheduled to be held from June 8th to 12th, 2026, at G Messe Gunma (Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture), and is one of the largest AI events in Japan, bringing together approximately 5,000 AI researchers, engineers, and corporate professionals from across the country.

On June 9th (Tuesday), winning teams will present at the special venue at G Messe Gunma, where the Grand Prix will be decided in front of AI experts. This is an unparalleled opportunity for those aspiring to start a startup or wishing to widely disseminate their ideas and technologies.
