Tripadvisor®, the world's largest travel guide platform (Headquarters: Needham, Massachusetts, Japanese site: www.tripadvisor.jp), has announced its "2026 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best Activities[1]".

The 2026 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best Activities are selected based on reviews and ratings posted on Tripadvisor by travelers worldwide during the one-year period from February 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026. This year, Fushimi Inari-taisha once again ranked first among popular tourist attractions in Japan. In the Popular Experiences category in Japan, the "Peaceful Hiroshima and Miyajima UNESCO 1-Day Bus Tour" ranked first, and the "Shirakawa-go World Heritage and Kanazawa Experience Tour from Kanazawa" ranked second. These results reflect a shift in inbound travel trends, such as a move towards experience-driven travel and a strong interest in regional tourism beyond the "Golden Route," as presented in Tripadvisor's "2026 Inbound Report" released in March. Furthermore, many Japanese experiences ranked on both the world and Asia lists this year, indicating strong popularity for inbound travel and unique Japanese experiences.
