Round Doctor Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Yoshinori Yamaue) conducted a survey titled 'Survey on the Intentions Regarding Lifestyle-Related Disease Management Fees Accompanying the Revision of Medical Fees in Reiwa 8th Year' targeting 153 internal medicine clinics nationwide.

Survey Summary

As a result of the survey, 35% of clinics responded that they plan to calculate the 'comprehensive management addition' after the revision of medical fees in Reiwa 8th year. On the other hand, 47% cited 'burden of data input and management' as an issue, and it has become clear that while interest in the system is increasing, the establishment of actual operational systems is becoming a new theme.

Furthermore, 78% mentioned 'DX tools for outpatient data submission' as an area they want to invest in the future, and it has become evident that clinics are prioritizing business efficiency in response to the system.

Survey Overview

Interest in comprehensive management addition increases with the revision in Reiwa 8th year

As of the revision of medical fees in Reiwa 8th year, only 17% of clinics were calculating the comprehensive management addition.

On the other hand, regarding the intention to calculate after the revision,

The results were 'planned: 35%', 'under consideration: 59%'.

It can be seen that many clinics are specifically considering responses to the comprehensive management addition in light of the revision.

Reasons for planning to calculate include:

・The number of items has decreased, making it easier to take on ・It is considered necessary to respond to outcome evaluation ・There are merits in medical fees due to the calculation of additions

While the intention to calculate is high, the issue is 'operation'

When asked about the issues to medical institutions that responded 'under consideration' or 'will not calculate' regarding the comprehensive management addition,

There were many concerns about business flow, and it can be seen that 'how to operate' is a major point at the site.

More than 60% of ophthalmology and dentistry collaboration additions are planned

Both ophthalmology and dentistry have more than 60% planning to calculate, and many clinics are showing their intention to proceed with strengthening collaboration.

The challenge of ophthalmology and dentistry collaboration is 'collaboration flow not established'

When asked about the issues to medical institutions that responded 'under consideration' or 'will not calculate' regarding the ophthalmology and dentistry collaboration addition, it was found that building the actual operational flow is a major challenge, rather than securing referrals.

What clinics want to invest in is 'systems' rather than 'human resources'

Regarding areas they want to invest in the future, it can be seen that clinics are increasingly interested in the utilization of DX in response to system responses and regional collaboration.

Round Doctor introduces 'Preventive Medicine Mark'

Round Doctor has introduced a 'Preventive Medicine Mark' on the clinic search page for patients as an initiative to support medical institutions that actively engage in lifestyle-related disease management.

This mark is given to medical institutions that calculate or plan to calculate the comprehensive management addition.

The purpose is to make it easier for patients to find medical institutions that are proactive in preventive medicine and lifestyle-related disease management.
