The "Umi no Minwa no Machi Project" (Sea Folk Tale Town Project), promoted by the General Incorporated Association Nippon Mukashibanashi Kyokai (Japan Folk Tale Association), is pleased to announce the launch of original "Paper Holders" designed with the world view of the sea folk tale "Ebisu Gassen" from Anamizu Town, Ishikawa Prefecture. This launch commemorates the completion of the animation of "Ebisu Gassen." These products will go on sale starting Saturday, April 11, 2026, at "Roadside Station Anamizu," which is annexed to Anamizu Station. The paper holders feature designs incorporating characters and symbolic scenes from the story, making them easy for daily use. Made from environmentally friendly paper, these items allow users to feel the warmth of paper and reflect on Anamizu Town's rich sea and history. Through this project, we hope that more people will visit Anamizu Town and become familiar with the folk tale "Ebisu Gassen."

This initiative is part of "The Nippon Foundation's 'Umi to Nippon Project' (Sea and Japan Project)," which connects people through the sea to pass on a rich and beautiful ocean to the next generation.

This project aims to convey Japan's deep connection to the sea and regional pride to children, linking it to the future. It archives valuable sea folk tales, which are intangible cultural assets from various parts of Japan and contain lessons about the sea, by transforming them into "Umi no Minwa Animation" for future generations. Furthermore, regions that have passed down these sea folk tales are certified as "Umi no Minwa no Machi" (Sea Folk Tale Towns), and joint efforts are made to promote and utilize them.
