What is the "Market School" activity?
*This press release is based on a modified version of the original text written by high school students.
"Market School" is a project where high school students collaborate with intermediate wholesalers at the Yokohama Central Wholesale Market to convey the market's original role and charm. While learning about the market, the students take on challenges such as "PR activities," "product development," and "event planning," aiming to communicate with a wide audience. Through these activities, they work to raise awareness of fresh fish and the unique liveliness of the market, while also creating opportunities for people and restaurant staff who don't usually visit the market to come and do business. By leveraging the flexible ideas and dynamism of the younger generation, they are pioneering new possibilities connecting the community and the market, and promoting the market's appeal. In this release, we present reports from the participating members.

As a result, when presenting, I was able to look at the audience instead of just staring at the slides, so I think the presentation itself went better than last time.

I was also truly happy that the intermediate wholesalers, city council members, and other market officials told us that our activities were meaningful.
Although I was in charge of PR, this fiscal year I went beyond that framework and also participated in service and product development activities. I was able to share the knowledge I gained from that, as well as things that might at first seem unrelated to "Market School," with many people at this final presentation.
Following the mid-term presentation, I am filled with gratitude for having such a valuable opportunity prepared for us and for having so many people attend. Truly...
