What is the "Market School" activity?
*This press release is based on the original text written by high school students, with additions and revisions.
"Market School" is a project where high school students and wholesale intermediate traders at Yokohama Central Wholesale Market collaborate to convey the original role and appeal of the market. While learning about the market, high school students challenge themselves with "PR activities," "product development," and "event planning," aiming to communicate these to many people. Through their activities, they aim to widely promote fresh fish and the unique vibrancy of the market, and also work to create opportunities for people who don't usually visit the market and restaurant stakeholders to visit and conduct business. Utilizing the flexible ideas and proactive spirit of the younger generation, they are opening up new possibilities to connect the community and the market, and disseminating the market's appeal. In this release, we deliver reports from the participating members.

At the previous interim presentation, there was a point where I crammed too much information onto the slides, making them difficult to view. As a result, during the presentation, I was able to speak while looking at the audience instead of staring at the slides, so I think the presentation itself went better than last time.

Furthermore, it was truly gratifying that the intermediate wholesalers, city council members, and market stakeholders told us that our activities were meaningful.
Although I was in charge of PR, this year I went beyond that framework and also participated in service and product development activities. The knowledge gained through those experiences, and even things that seemed unrelated to "Market School" at first glance, I was able to share with many people at this end-of-term presentation.
Following the interim presentation, I am full of gratitude for having such a valuable opportunity prepared and for so many people attending. Truly...
