What is the 'Market School' Activity?

*This press release is based on the original text written by high school students, with additions and revisions.

"Market School" is a project where high school students collaborate with wholesale businesses (nakagai) at the Yokohama City Central Wholesale Market to convey the market's original role and appeal. While learning about the market, high school students challenge themselves with activities such as 'PR activities,' 'product development,' and 'event planning,' aiming to communicate this to many people. Through these activities, they strive to widely promote fresh fish and the unique vibrancy of the market, while also creating opportunities for people who do not typically visit markets and for restaurant operators to come and conduct transactions. Utilizing the flexible ideas and proactive energy of the younger generation, they are pioneering new possibilities to connect the community and the market, and communicate the market's charm. This release features reports from participating members.

Although I was in charge of PR, this year I went beyond that role and participated in service and product development activities. The knowledge gained from these experiences, and even things that might not seem related to 'Market School' at first glance, were shared with many people at this final presentation.

Following the mid-term presentation, I am full of gratitude for being provided with such a valuable opportunity and for the attendance of so many people. Truly...
