Spotify (company name Spotify AB / headquarters Stockholm, Sweden), an audio streaming service used by over 761 million people worldwide, will hold a pre-event symbolizing the promotion of 'gender equity' in the music industry during the award week of 'MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026', Japan's largest international music award, on June 9th. This special live event, titled [MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN WEEK SPECIAL LIVE Billboard JAPAN | Spotify present Women In Music - EQUAL STAGE], is hosted by CEIPA with planning cooperation from Billboard JAPAN.

This event is a one-night-only special stage combining the major projects undertaken by Billboard JAPAN and Spotify respectively.

[Billboard JAPAN Women In Music], launched by Billboard JAPAN in 2022, is a project that aims for a more inclusive society by multi-dimensionally introducing 'cool' women who empower society through their activities and the people who support them. On the other hand, [Spotify EQUAL], launched globally by Spotify in 2021, is a program that expands opportunities for female artists/creators to express themselves and continuously supports their activities. This time, under the collaboration of these two major brands, a stage where active female artists from Japan and abroad resonate will be realized.
