## What is fog mail?

"fog mail" is a new web application that allows users to send messages by blowing breath onto a fogged window and writing with their finger, all within their smartphone browser.

Users can press a "Haaaa" button to fog up the screen, and then trace with their finger to clear the mist and reveal text. Once finished, a unique URL can be sent via email or LINE. When the recipient opens the URL, the same message is reproduced on the same type of fogged window on their device. The message automatically disappears after 10 minutes.

No installation is required. It can be experienced solely through a browser.

## Background of Development

The starting point was the idea of recreating the experience everyone has had at least once: blowing breath onto a train window and writing words on the fogged surface – but on the web.

The concept behind this service is the constraint of "disappearing" messages, which LINE and email lack, and the "symmetry" where "the receiver also shares the same experience." By saving the sender's tracing data on the server and redrawing it exactly on the receiver's screen, the same message appears on the same window, regardless of the device.
