Japan's Oldest Existing Beer Hall Celebrates 92nd Anniversary: 'Beer Hall Lion Ginza Nanachome Store' Foundation Festival

Sapporo Lion Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiroyuki Tazawa), a group company of Sapporo Holdings, will hold a foundation festival event at 'Beer Hall Lion Ginza Nanachome Store,' Japan's oldest existing beer hall, which will celebrate its 92nd anniversary on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, to express gratitude for long-standing patronage.

A Hall of Fame Beer Hall Embodying History and Tradition: 'Beer Hall Lion Ginza Nanachome Store'

The 'Ginza Lion Building,' registered as a National Registered Tangible Cultural Property (Building) on February 17, 2022, was established on April 8, 1934 (Showa 9). On April 26 of the same year, 'Beer Hall Lion Ginza Nanachome Store,' Japan's oldest existing beer hall, opened on the first floor.

The interior has remained largely unchanged since its establishment, and it has been loved by many customers across generations as 'a beer hall that always welcomes you with the same appearance no matter how many times you visit' and 'a beer hall full of memories.' This year, it celebrates its 92nd anniversary on Wednesday, April 8.

Cheers with live music at the 'Ohanami Beer Hall Concert'!

At Beer Hall Lion Ginza Nanachome Store, the 'Ohanami Beer Hall', extensively decorated with cherry blossoms, is currently being held for a limited time until Monday, April 13.

On Wednesday, April 8, the day of its establishment, and Monday, April 13, the last day of the Ohanami Beer Hall, the 'Ohanami Beer Hall Concert' will be held, where you can enjoy songs and live performances by musicians while viewing cherry blossoms. You can enjoy cherry blossom viewing in the spring-like beer hall with lively music and a glass of draft beer poured using Ginza Lion's traditional 'Ichido Tsugi' (single pour) method.

*Reservations for seats are not accepted. Please refrain from reserving seats on the day of the concert.
