First Special Performance Decided at Fukuoka City Science Museum on Saturday, July 18, 2026! "Planetarium Concert - Adriatic Starry Sky and Music from "Porco Rosso"-"

A special performance of "Planetarium Concert - Adriatic Starry Sky and Music from "Porco Rosso"-" will be held for the first time in Fukuoka at the Fukuoka City Science Museum's Dome Theater (Planetarium) on Saturday, July 18, 2026.

This program is a highly popular one that has held a total of 66 performances at Konica Minolta Planetaria TOKYO (Yurakucho, Tokyo), recording a cumulative attendance of 5,400 visitors. Furthermore, on Sunday, July 19, an encore performance of "Planetarium Concert - Meteors and Music from "Howl's Moving Castle"-", for which tickets sold out on the same day during its Fukuoka performance in March of this year, will also be staged at the same venue.

■ The World of "Porco Rosso" Music and Starry Skies

This performance is a planetarium concert where you can enjoy the starry sky visible in the Adriatic region and the music from the movie "Porco Rosso" with live performances by professional classical musicians.

The pieces to be performed are masterpieces from the image album/soundtrack of the movie "Porco" Rosso. Joe Hisaishi's pastoral yet universal melodies transcend the framework of film music and continue to be loved by many people to this day. In addition, special performances of "Le Temps des cerises," used as an insert song in the film, and "Toki ni wa Mukashi no Hanashi o," written as the theme song, will also be performed.

The performance will be handled by "Ame no Shita," a piano quartet consisting of piano, cello, contrabass, and saxophone from Watanabe Hiroshi STRINGS. Please enjoy a special time with the unique planetarium production, including explanations of the Adriatic starry sky.

*This is a concert to enjoy the music of "Porco Rosso" amidst the starry sky projected by the planetarium. Scenes from the movie itself will not be projected (used).

*This is a project organized by Konica Minolta Planetarium. Please refrain from contacting Studio Ghibli regarding this performance.

*Due to the use of an optical planetarium for the production at the Fukuoka City Science Museum, some production elements will differ from the Tokyo performances.

Formed around members of Watanabe Hiroshi STRINGS, prompted by the performance of "LIVE in the COLORS -w/Piano session-" at Konica Minolta Planetaria TOKYO.

Based on classical music, each member brings diverse musicality including jazz, creating a resonant sound that is both accessible and profound, harmonizing with the starry sky.

Due to facility and production constraints, the venue will be very dark during this event. Even in case of public transportation delays, entry after the performance has started may be restricted to prioritize customer safety. In such cases, you may not be able to view the performance from your assigned seat, so please be aware of this in advance.

This event allows you to enjoy the starry sky, visuals, and music in a planetarium facility. Depending on the production or the seating arrangement of the dome, the stage (artists) may be difficult to see.

Infectious disease prevention measures will be thoroughly implemented according to the season.

Children who have not yet entered elementary school are not permitted to enter this performance.
