Konica Minolta Planetarium to Premiere “Searching for Shooting Stars feat. BUMP OF CHICKEN” in July 2026, Narrated by Daiki Yamashita

Konica Minolta Planetarium will screen “Searching for Shooting Stars feat. BUMP OF CHICKEN” at all five of its entertainment planetarium venues in Yurakucho, Ikebukuro, Oshiage, Yokohama and Nagoya from Friday, July 3, 2026. The program will be narrated by popular voice actor Daiki Yamashita. The work offers a starry-sky experience that explores the secrets of shooting stars through music. A shooting star is a fleeting light that disappears almost the moment it is seen, yet somehow remains vividly in the heart. Centered on shooting stars, the program explains seasonal night skies, how to find meteor showers, and the cosmic mechanisms behind the birth of meteors. Inside the dome, audiences can experience meteor showers such as the Perseids spreading across the entire planetarium sky, accompanied by music from BUMP OF CHICKEN. Original BUMP OF CHICKEN merchandise is also planned for sale alongside the screening, with details to be announced later. Daiki Yamashita will gently narrate the fragility of shooting stars and the quietness of the night sky, guiding viewers into the story. His soft voice blends with the starry scenery to create a memorable moment where words and light melt together. BUMP OF CHICKEN is a four-member rock band from Sakura, Chiba, consisting of Motoo Fujiwara, Hiroaki Masukawa, Yoshifumi Naoi and Hideo Masu. Formed in 1996, the band made its major debut in 2000 with the single “Diamond” and became widely known with “Tentai Kansoku.” In 2024, the band released its 10th album, “Iris,” and held arena and dome tours that drew a total of 500,000 people. In 2026, the band will mark its 30th anniversary and begin the nationwide “BUMP OF CHICKEN TOUR 2026-2027 Ratio Clavis” in October. Daiki Yamashita was born on September 7 in Shizuoka Prefecture and debuted as a voice actor in 2012. In 2014, he won Best New Actor at the 8th Seiyu Awards. He has starred in popular works including “Yowamushi Pedal,” “My Hero Academia” and “Pokemon,” and has appeared in many other titles such as “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind,” “Demon Slayer” and “Shabake.” Planetaria TOKYO DOME2 in Yurakucho and Planetarium Tenku in Oshiage are equipped with Konica Minolta Planetarium’s proprietary 3D sound system, SOUND DOME®. Using 43 speakers and four woofers, the system adds depth and presence to the full-dome visual space. For this work, layers of wind, air and ambient sound create the feeling of actually looking up at the night sky outdoors. “Searching for Shooting Stars feat.
