## CooperVision Unveils Latest Research at BCLA Asia 2026

Tokyo, Japan, May 26, 2026 - CooperVision Japan, part of the global contact lens leader CooperVision, will share new research findings at BCLA Asia 2026, taking place in Tokyo from May 29-31, 2026. This year's BCLA Asia is co-hosted with the Japan Contact Lens Society (JCLS), and the event will feature new clinical insights into prescribing soft contact lenses for myopia management, astigmatism, and presbyopia.

### Behavioral Change in Myopia Management
One key presentation focuses on leveraging the Transtheoretical Model to guide education in myopia management. Research by Huang J and T Song maps parent perspectives across five stages—from Pre-contemplation to Maintenance. Using stage-specific, evidence-based communication, the study demonstrates the potential to increase parental understanding, support informed decision-making, and improve the adoption and retention rates of myopia progression control measures.

### Streamlining Toric Lens Prescribing
Another highlight is the research on "Effect of toric power alterations on soft toric lens fit and rotation" (Dutta D et al.). The study indicates that in the same material and specification, changing the cylinder power by ±1.00D does not affect the fit or rotation of the toric lens. This finding could potentially reduce the number of trials and adjustments needed for astigmatic patients, thereby improving clinical efficiency.

Additionally, CooperVision researchers will share findings on multifocal lenses, including the impact of pupil size on visual performance and the significance of early presbyopia intervention.
