CrowdStrike (NASDAQ: CRWD) today announced agent-based MDR, the next evolution of Managed Detection and Response (MDR). Falcon Complete's skilled security analysts will build and deploy intelligent agents to automate tedious security workflows, stopping breaches at machine speed and establishing a cyclical system that accumulates experience with each engagement.
Austin Murphy, Vice President and GM of Falcon Complete, stated:
"CrowdStrike is a pioneer in MDR (Managed Detection and Response), and with the introduction of agent-based MDR, we will continue this leadership in the AI era. AI-powered attackers launch attacks faster than defenders can respond, requiring security defense speeds to be elevated to machine speed, surpassing manual workflows. Agent-based MDR combines advanced human expertise with agents, enabling defenders to investigate and respond at the speed of modern attacks."
## AI-Accelerated Attackers Exploit the Cybersecurity Skill Gap
Activity by attackers abusing AI has increased by 89% year-over-year. Meanwhile, the average breakout time for cybercrime (eCrime) has shortened to just 29 minutes, forcing defenders to respond more quickly and at a larger scale than ever before. Security teams process thousands of detections daily. Separating signals from noise and reliably preventing breaches often requires manual triage and response workflows. With a widening skill gap and increasing cost pressures, improving speed and accuracy without increasing headcount is a strategically imperative challenge.
## Agent-based MDR Gets Ahead of Attackers
Agent-based MDR redefines managed defense for the AI era. By complementing skilled analysts with agents, it streamlines tedious workflows and extends advanced protection across the entire enterprise environment.
AI inference models further accelerate agent-driven investigations. Building on its expanded collaboration with NVIDIA, CrowdStrike is evaluating inference capabilities leveraging NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Nano and Nemotron Super models within agent-based MDR. By maximizing computational efficiency and accuracy with NVIDIA Nemotron models, Falcon Complete can process vast amounts of security data, enabling real-time, accurate decision-making even in large environments. Internal tests show that leveraging NVIDIA Nemotron Nano and Nemotron Super models improves investigation speed by up to 5x and triage accuracy for high-confidence benign classification performance by over 3x.
## Services to Operationalize Agent-based SOC
CrowdStrike has also launched a new SOC transformation service to help internal teams modernize their security operations. Led by CrowdStrike's expert SOC operators, this new service assists organizations in migrating to Falcon® Next-Gen SIEM through SIEM, data pipeline, agentic workflow, and governance transformations, establishing the data and operational requirements for an agent-based SOC.
By combining Falcon Complete and CrowdStrike Services, organizations can be presented with a clear transformation roadmap for an agent-based SOC. CrowdStrike can either operate an agent-based SOC via Falcon Complete or help organizations build their own capabilities internally.
