"To make intrapreneurs shine" is the purpose of the co-creation community "IntraStar." On July 23, 2026 (Thu), we will hold an online talk session titled "How Do Engineers Aim to Become 'Entrepreneurs'?" (Free participation).
We will welcome Kohei Kunimatsu from Tsubakimoto Chain Inc., who has transitioned from an engineer in the mobility domain to driving new business initiatives across the entire company, as our guest. The session will be moderated by Hiroyuki Arai, Director CSMO of Curationz.
<Background of the Event>
Currently, the main players in new business are shifting towards "former engineers/specialists." The trend of people who have built products now moving to build businesses is accelerating in various companies.
However, much of the information available focuses on "how to create systems" or "case studies of successful companies." There are few opportunities to hear, in the words of those involved, the process of an individual "transforming" from an engineer to an entrepreneur. Proceeding without a clear understanding of this process can lead to unnecessary personal exhaustion.
This talk session aims to hear from Mr. Kunimatsu, who has transitioned from an engineer in the mobility domain to driving new business initiatives across the company, about his firsthand experience—not focusing on system theories or success stories, but on "what became ineffective and what weapons, precisely because he was an engineer, proved useful."
<Recommended for the Following Individuals>
- Those who have transitioned (or are planning to transition) from engineering, research, or specialist fields to new business/business development. - Those who are confused because their intuition, which worked well in manufacturing, is not effective in the business creation environment. - Those who are currently facing challenges alone, such as the "valley of death," withdrawal decisions, or coordination with existing business units. - Those who have read enough about the "theory" and "success cases" of new business and want to know how individuals actually changed and overcame obstacles. - Managers, business development leaders, and HR executives who want to support engineers and specialists in transitioning to new business.
<Three Things You Will Gain from This Seminar>
1 A "roadmap" for the transition from engineer to entrepreneur
Understand what became ineffective and, conversely, what weapons are effective precisely because you are an engineer. As you listen, you will gain clarity on your current position.
2 The "patterns" for overcoming the walls that await you as an entrepreneur
How to reallocate resources in the "valley of death." How to make a "withdrawal" decision. Where to place your decision-making as an entrepreneur.
3 The technique to overcome the challenge of "a business cannot be built alone"
How to involve existing business units without making them "enemies" and secure management commitment. The reality of driving cross-functional business initiatives.
