Gion Tsujiri x Kameyama Collaboration "Gion Tsujiri Mini Incense Sticks"

Luxuriously Blended with Matcha from Kyoto's Long-Established Store

The "Gion Tsujiri Mini Incense Sticks," realized through a collaboration with Kyoto's long-established Gion Tsujiri, is an innovative product that achieves sustainability by incorporating matcha powder that disperses when tea leaves are ground with a stone mill.

Under the supervision of Gion Tsujiri, the original matcha scent, which harmonizes subtle sweetness with a refreshing coolness, has been reproduced. Expressing the astringency, bitterness, and sweetness felt when drinking matcha solely through scent was extremely difficult and required a considerable amount of development time. Furthermore, numerous prototypes were made to match the color of the incense stick to that of matcha powder, finally achieving completion. It has been finished as an exquisite item that allows you to feel the dignity and luxury of a long-established brand.

Luxuriously blended with matcha, these mini incense sticks allow you to fully enjoy the aroma of matcha. Please enjoy them during your relaxing time at home.

About Gion Tsujiri

The history of Gion Tsujiri dates back to 1860 (Man'en 1). It began when the founder, Rihei Tsuji, established "Tsujiri" in Yamashiro Province, Uji Village, to manufacture and sell Uji tea. Later, it was renamed "Gion Tsujiri" as its base was in Gion, Kyoto.

Furthermore, Gion Tsujiri, which pursues the deliciousness of tea in line with the times, opened the Japanese tea specialty cafe "Saryo Tsujiri" in 1978, developing and offering high-quality matcha sweets that luxuriously use matcha.

In October 2023, "Buburu" was launched at Kyoto Station as a new brand specializing in "momicha" (rolled tea) such as gyokuro, sencha, and hojicha. We will continue to deliver moments of "joy" that tea brings to many people.
