About Gion Tsujiri

The history of Gion Tsujiri dates back to 1860 (Man'en 1). It began when the founder, Rihei Tsuji, established "Tsujiri" in Yamashiro Province, Uji Village, to manufacture and sell Uji tea. Later, it was renamed "Gion Tsujiri" as its base was in Gion, Kyoto.
