The World of "R-TYPE Δ" Depicted in Traditional Japanese "Sumi-e" Ink Wash Painting -- "R-TYPE Δ × Sumi-e SHOP" to be Held at SHIBUYA TSUTAYA IP Bookstore from July 1 (Wed)

L&L Victor Entertainment, Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), in cooperation with City Connection Co., Ltd., will hold a limited-time event "R-TYPE Δ × Sumi-e SHOP" that expresses the world of "R-TYPE Δ" through the traditional Japanese art of sumi-e ink wash painting, starting July 1 (Wed), 2026, at the SHIBUYA TSUTAYA 6th floor IP Bookstore.

At this event, "R9 aII Delta," "RX Albatross," and "R13 Cerberus" from "R-TYPE Δ," as well as the series' iconic powerful enemy "Dopkeradops (Dopgeradops)," will be newly drawn by sumi-e artist Utako. Through the powerful brushstrokes and the beauty of white space unique to sumi-e, the silence, tension, and overwhelming presence of "R-TYPE Δ" will be depicted in a new expression.

In addition to the exhibition of large-scale sumi-e artworks, a variety of original sumi-e goods will be sold at the venue. This event will be enjoyable not only for game fans but also for those interested in Japanese culture and art.

A New "R-TYPE Δ" Drawn with Ink

"R-TYPE Δ," released in 1998 as the series' first 3D graphic work, continues to be supported by many shooting game fans.

The fierce battle between humanity and the organic life form "Bydo," the refined ship designs, and the quiet, beautiful presentation are still talked about today without fading.

This project reconstructs its charm through sumi-e, a traditional Japanese art form.

By stripping away color and expressing only the shades, bleeds, and dry brush strokes of the ink, the silence pervading the battlefield, the weight of the ships, and the malevolence of the Bydo are depicted more impressively.
