DUBAI, UAE / SHANGHAI, China – June 24, 2026 – Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, today announced a strategic expansion of its cargo services in East and Southeast Asia. The airline will increase the frequency and destinations of its freighter flights to further strengthen connectivity between emerging and established manufacturing hubs in the region and high-demand key markets in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

Supporting vital international trade, Emirates SkyCargo transported over 439,000 tonnes of cargo in the 2025/26 financial year from 12 markets in East and Southeast Asia, via both freighter and passenger flights. This represents an increase of approximately 5% compared to the previous year, reflecting the growing demand from regional businesses and exporters for rapid and secure global transportation to other regions.

Badr Abbas, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations, East and Southeast Asia at Emirates SkyCargo, said: “East and Southeast Asia are critical manufacturing and export hubs that underpin the global economy, serving as vital centers for advanced technology products, fresh produce, and supporting global e-commerce demand. By continuously deploying freighters and scaling up our capacity in line with customer demand, we are ensuring rapid and secure delivery to end customers worldwide. In addition to our dedicated freighter services, Emirates SkyCargo offers unparalleled flexibility and connectivity by leveraging the bellyhold capacity of our wide-body passenger fleet, connecting 25 cities. Customers in East and Southeast Asia can utilize over 12,000 tonnes of weekly capacity to transport their cargo across the globe through Emirates’ extensive network.”

Expansion of Freighter Network Emirates SkyCargo has increased its freighter flights to Narita International Airport from once a week to twice a week. Combined with the twice-weekly flights to Kansai International Airport, this brings the total number of dedicated freighter direct scheduled flights connecting Japan and Dubai to four per week, further strengthening the logistics network between Japan and the Middle East. The increased Narita flights will cater to the transportation needs of a wide range of industries supporting Japan’s advanced manufacturing sector, including automobiles, electronics, and pharmaceuticals.

Furthermore, cargo flights to Hong Kong have been expanded to 37 flights per week, offering greater flexibility and transportation options for this export-driven economic corridor. In mainland China, the airline operates three weekly freighter flights to Zhengzhou, an industrial hub in Henan province, expanding its network to connect central China with Dubai and beyond to global markets.

Additionally, the resumption of freighter flights from Singapore, operating once a week to Dubai via Mumbai, strengthens important intra-Asia trade routes.

In Taiwan, responding to increased demand for transporting high-tech electronic equipment, freighter flights to Taipei have been expanded from once a week to twice a week.

In Thailand, there continues to be strong demand for the once-weekly freighter service to Bangkok, supporting the transportation of electronics and precision instruments, fresh produce, fashion items, and consumer goods.

In Vietnam, the airline maintains its four weekly freighter services to Hanoi, providing swift connections for exports, including fresh produce, to Dubai and the Middle East, as well as opportunities for global distribution.

Cargo Transportation Utilizing Bellyhold Capacity of Wide-body Passenger Aircraft In addition to dedicated freighter services, Emirates SkyCargo provides high-frequency and high-capacity cargo transportation solutions across East and Southeast Asia by utilizing the bellyhold capacity of its wide-body passenger aircraft. The airline currently operates over 320 passenger flights per week in the region, offering seamless connectivity for businesses and exporters.
