Interwoven Inc. (headquartered in Chuo Ward, Tokyo; President and CEO: Nobutaka Yoshii) has been entrusted, together with JTB Corporation, to plan and operate the 'Intrapreneur Promotion Project' for fiscal year 2026, hosted by Toyama Prefecture, continuing from last year. The company will implement the intrapreneur development program 'Intrapass Toyama'.

This program targets executives and employees of companies based in Toyama Prefecture, as well as local working professionals aiming to start their own businesses. It seeks applicants who are interested in corporate entrepreneurship, second startups, successor-led ventures, or new business creation.

Amid population decline, shifting market conditions, and rapid technological advancements including AI, regional enterprises are increasingly required to create new growth areas beyond the extension of existing businesses. At the same time, many companies possess internal strengths such as technology, talent, customer bases, and regional resources, yet often lack the opportunities or systems to turn these into viable businesses or develop the necessary human capital.

To address these challenges, 'Intrapass Toyama' will support each participant in refining their business concept into an actionable business plan through five workshops, individual mentoring sessions, and a final presentation event. The program provides step-by-step support—from customer problem validation and business model design to revenue structure planning and presentation skills—empowering participants to become catalysts for new ventures within their organizations.

Program Overview

'Intrapass Toyama' is a hands-on program designed to cultivate intrapreneurs (corporate entrepreneurs) who can leverage the internal management resources and business foundations of Toyama-based companies to launch spin-off ventures, second startups, or successor-led ventures.

Over approximately three months, participants will move beyond mere ideas, systematically developing their business concepts into detailed plans covering customer challenges, value propositions, business models, revenue structures, and execution strategies.

At the final presentation event, participants will present their refined business plans and receive feedback from executives, investors, financial institutions, and support organizations.

Program Features

- Refining business concepts into actionable plans

The program goes beyond idea generation, guiding participants step by step through customer validation, business model design, and revenue modeling. It supports the creation of practical business plans that can be used when seeking internal approval within their companies.

- Enhancing business hypotheses using generative AI

The program introduces 'IntrAI,' Interwoven’s proprietary generative AI tool, to assist participants in organizing and refining their business ideas. Custom AI chatbots tailored to each session’s theme and individual progress help participants clarify target customer profiles and value propositions, enabling continuous development even outside of workshops.

- Continuous support through individual mentoring and online communities

In addition to the five workshops, individual mentoring sessions are provided. Mentors will work closely with each participant based on their progress—covering issue clarification, customer hypothesis testing, business model refinement, financial planning, and presentation preparation—to enhance the feasibility of their business plans.

- Building a peer-learning community

An online community using platforms like Slack will be established to facilitate information sharing and peer consultation outside of lectures. By connecting with others in Toyama who are pursuing new ventures, participants can build relationships that support not only the program duration but also future business development.

- Advancing toward commercialization through the final presentation

The final presentation event offers participants the opportunity to present their business plans to local financial institutions, venture capitalists, and support organizations. This external feedback helps participants define their next steps toward actual business launch.
