Anz Kanie's new exhibition will be held at "Artglorieux GALLERY OF TOKYO" on the 5th floor of GINZA SIX from Thursday, June 4 to Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

Following the "74th Shogakukan Children's Publishing Culture Award" in 2025, this highly anticipated exhibition marks a new chapter in painter Anz Kanie's artistic activities, showcasing newly drawn canvas works and previously unannounced paintings for the first time.

Admission is free.

Embracing conflicting elements, the emotions and landscapes born in between are depicted by Anz Kanie through paintings and words.

This exhibition will present her latest painting works, born from observing the subtle 'fluctuations' within daily life and repeated exploration.

Highlights

What captivates visitors to Anz Kanie's exhibition is her collection of works that observe the subtle 'fluctuations' hidden in daily life and the 'ambience' before it becomes words, elevating them through layers of paint.

By expanding into new expressive domains such as literature, her expression has deepened and been updated.

New work "Daydreaming"

The wolf-like animal motif embracing the girl depicted in the main visual "Daydreaming" expresses the fundamental strength of the wild and the serene gentleness drifting in a dream.

Works drawn with supple lines and vivid colors invite you into Anz Kanie's magical world of lines and colors.

The core of this exhibition consists of original hand-drawn canvases and the limited series "Whim".

Original hand-drawn canvases are, as the name suggests, one-of-a-kind works. The brushstrokes and touch of the brush can only be seen directly during the exhibition period.

"Whim" is a popular series, meaning "caprice". Unlike regular drypoint works, these are highly scarce works using Anz Kanie's unique techniques, collage, and a rich variety of art materials, limited to 1 or 5 editions.

In addition, many other works will adorn the Artglorieux GALLERY OF TOKYO!

■ Artist Profile: Anz Kanie

Anz Kanie, 2026 Recent Photo

Born in Tokyo. After graduating from Jiyu Gakuen, she studied printmaking in London.

Known as "the painter with the colors of the sun and stars," she actively holds solo exhibitions at museums and department stores nationwide.

Her activities are diverse, ranging from paintings to novels, picture books, essays, and creative collaborations with companies.

This new exhibition is a notable solo exhibition marking a new chapter in her artistic activities, following the "Shogakukan Children's Publishing Culture Award" in 2025 and being featured in JBBY's (Japan Board on Books for Young People) "Recommended! Japanese and World Children's Books 2026."

Major Awards and Selections:

・Received the Special Jury Prize at the "Pen Creator Award 2021"

・In 2024, her novel "Ano Sora no Iro ga Hoshii" (I Want That Sky Color) (Kawade Shobo Shinsha) was selected as a recommended book by the National School Library Association.

・The same work received the "74th Shogakukan Children's Publishing Culture Award" in 2025.

・In 2025, her picture book "Oh-oi" was featured in JBBY's (Japan Board on Books for Young People) "Recommended! Japanese and World Children's Books 2026."

Social Contribution

Chairperson of the NPO "3.11 Children's Library." Established "Niji Bunko," a picture book library in Soma City, Fukushima Prefecture, continuously supporting disaster-stricken areas through art. Also serves as a coordinator for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's reconstruction education support project, engaging in activities that connect children nationwide with art.
