Training on Crop Cultivation Using Skeepon Conducted for Farmers in 16 Locations in Uganda

Ac-Planta (Headquarters: Tsurumi-ku, Yokohama; CEO: Jong-Myung Kim) conducted agricultural training on 'Skeepon,' an agricultural material that reduces heat and drought stress in plants, in agricultural regions of Uganda from April 28 to May 12, 2026. This training was conducted in collaboration with the National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO), a Ugandan government agricultural research institution, and the Uganda National Farmers Federation (UNFFE). Ac-Planta signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NARO in September 2025 and has been preparing to widely disseminate Skeepon technology within Uganda. Following the completion of product registration in Uganda, the company held training sessions for agricultural instructors and farmers as the first step toward full-scale technical deployment across the country. The training was held in 16 regions in the eastern and western parts of Uganda. Farmers learned how to use Skeepon for various crops, including corn, bananas, cassava, as well as coffee, cabbage, and tomatoes, which contribute to increasing farmers' income. CEO Kim served as the instructor, with NARO researchers and local staff providing interpretation in local languages. As there are many local languages in the country, explanations were given in the language of each region, and materials such as pamphlets were also prepared in local languages. More than 250 farmers participated in the training session in the first region. After explaining the mechanism of Skeepon, application methods, target crops, and expected effects for about an hour and a half, a Q&A session was held. Participants asked specific questions such as 'Which crops can it be used for?' and 'How should it be diluted and sprayed?', indicating high local interest. In addition to classroom lectures, practical explanations were provided in the fields. The procedures for diluting Skeepon and spraying it using locally accessible tools like watering cans were demonstrated, conveying the technology in a way that farmers can easily introduce it in actual cultivation sites. The training in Uganda is an initiative where NARO, UNFFE, and Ac-Planta collaborate to introduce Skeepon technology directly to farmers. By disseminating the effectiveness and usage methods of the technology together with government research institutions, the company is building a foundation for future nationwide expansion.
