English Speaking Evaluation AI "CHIVOX®" to be Integrated into Surarana Net's New "Elementary School English" Curriculum

In "Elementary School English", CHIVOX will be integrated into two content areas where learners practice speaking aloud: "PHONICS" and "CONVERSATION", responsible for pronunciation evaluation and feedback, allowing learners to compare their own pronunciation with the model.

Partnership Since 2021 Expanded to Elementary School English Learning

AIED and Surarana Net have collaborated in the field of English pronunciation learning since 2021, when CHIVOX was first provided for the interactive ICT curriculum "Surara". In the existing content, CHIVOX provides a speaking AI function that judges the pronunciation of read-aloud English sentences, enabling learning through comparison with a model.

Now, CHIVOX has also been adopted for "Elementary School English", newly developed by Surarana Net for the elementary school level, expanding the collaboration between the two companies to English learning for elementary school students. "Elementary School English" will be available from July 2026 and is designed to foster a foundation for junior high school English through three learning components: the rules of letters and sounds "PHONICS", English words "WORDS", and English expressions "CONVERSATION". CHIVOX will evaluate the audio for "PHONICS" and "CONVERSATION", where learners pronounce and speak aloud.

Two Content Areas Where CHIVOX Excels

In both content areas, learners can study by comparing their pronunciation with the model pronunciation, and CHIVOX evaluates the sounds produced and provides feedback. This reduces the burden on educators and guardians for listening to and correcting each pronunciation, supporting a learning environment where students can enjoy encountering correct English sounds and practice repeatedly.

1. PHONICS ── Solidify the connection between sounds and letters enjoyably through pronunciation evaluation

Learners will study the rules of alphabets and sounds through abundant illustrations, audio, and English songs. In pronunciation practice sessions, CHIVOX evaluates the sounds produced by learners and provides feedback.

2. CONVERSATION ── Master basic expressions through the experience of "speaking"

Learners will study basic English expressions taught in elementary school through "listening", "reading", and "speaking" activities. When reading English sentences or speaking English, CHIVOX judges the pronunciation and provides feedback through comparison with the model. This mechanism of "CHIVOX judging read-alouds" is consistent with the learning provided in "Surara" to date, and will be offered in "Elementary School English" adapted for the elementary school level.
