Anthropic Announces 200 New Jobs in Ireland Amid Growing Enterprise Demand in Europe

Anthropic, an AI safety and R&D company, has announced significant expansion plans for its Dublin operations. The company will relocate to a new city-center office, expanding its floor space sixfold to 21,000 square feet, and plans to hire 200 new employees across engineering, sales, finance, legal & compliance, and operations departments.

This expansion is driven by the rapidly growing enterprise demand in Europe. Anthropic's revenue in the EMEA region has grown 11-fold year-over-year, fueled by companies utilizing Claude, digital-native businesses, and startups. Ireland's increasing status as a hub for AI adoption also plays a role. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) ranks Ireland first globally in skill readiness, and a Trinity College Dublin survey indicates that corporate AI adoption has nearly doubled in a year.

Claude's Utilization by Irish Companies and Students

Irish companies are already actively using Claude. Wayflyer, Tines, and Manna, among others, are transforming their operations by leveraging Claude for tasks such as automating security processes, accelerating software development, and expanding drone delivery. Claude is also gaining attention among students.

A startup called "Zerostrike," founded by three Trinity College Dublin students and one Dublin City University graduate, won the HackEurope, a major European coding competition. The company used Claude to build a platform that predicts dry lightning strike locations and triggers rainfall via drones before fires ignite, as an idea to prevent wildfires. This case demonstrates the potential of Ireland's next-generation talent.

Furthermore, Claude is gaining widespread consumer adoption, having reached the top spot in Ireland's free iPhone app rankings.

Ireland's Rise as an AI Hub

This announcement follows the Irish government's recently unveiled Digital and AI 2030 Strategy. The strategy aims to establish Ireland as a global AI hub and further strengthen the country's excellent technology talent base.
