Sawayaka Blueberry Farm Ichihara (112 Komagome, Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture), which aims to grow the sweetest and most delicious blueberries in Japan, is holding a blueberry picking experience where visitors can compare all 45 varieties, one of the largest selections in Japan, until late August 2026. This year, to coincide with the opening, they are implementing the popular "Parent-Child Blueberry Researcher Campaign," where families can enjoy discussing the differences in color, size, and other characteristics of each variety.

This is a farm where families can enjoy blueberry picking to their heart's content.

The farm is lined with rare blueberries that are hard to find in supermarkets.

The world's largest variety, "Titan," with its超大粒 (extra-large berries), is sometimes called the "phantom blueberry." Other varieties include the extremely rare red "Pink Lemonade," the very popular "Eureka," and "Liberty," which can sometimes exceed 20 degrees Brix. Visitors can easily pick a wide variety of fruits.

The farm has many large blueberries. The extremely rare "Pink Lemonade" variety surprises visitors with its red color!

During the season, 7 to 10 or more varieties of blueberries are always available. No matter how many times you visit, you can enjoy different flavors.

In 2026, the "Parent-Child Blueberry Researcher Campaign" is being held to coincide with the opening.

A "Taste Comparison Research Sheet" will be distributed at the reception.

Families are encouraged to taste and compare the blueberries while discussing the differences in color and flavor, and fill out the sheet.

When you show the completed sheet at the reception, you will receive a "Researcher Certification Card." This is a perfect plan not only for a family outing but also for children's summer vacation independent research projects.

Message from the Representative

Blueberries are not just sweet; their flavor, aroma, and size vary slightly depending on the variety.

When customers visit, you can hear voices from all over the farm saying, "This one is sweet," or "This one is a bit sour."

In previous years, some repeat customers have visited as many as four times during the experience period, fascinated by the differences between varieties. We also see many children happily eating blueberries.

In recent years, as food education (shokuiku) has gained attention, we thought that blueberries could be more than just something to eat. They could be an opportunity for children to become interested in food and create fun family interactions and memories. That's why we decided to hold the Researcher Campaign alongside the opening.
